Personal Projects

Self-motivated projects which expand my creativity and offer clients an insight into my wider vision.

Most of us take personal photos almost as a matter of course in our daily lives, but it may seem odd that a professional photographer would strive to take pictures with serious intent even when they’re not on commission.

However, personal project work is vital to my practice for a variety of reasons.

They allow me to explore creative briefs that I set for myself. They keep me fresh and engaged, and allow me to explore new ideas and techniques. These often feed back into my commissioned work, which is an obvious benefit to my clients.

By focusing on ideas and coherent projects outside of my client work, I maintain a more rounded approach to everything I do.

These galleries contain a small selection of the images from their respective projects, but you can see much more by going to takeagander.co.uk. If anything here sparks an idea, I’d love to hear from you!
